Former LSU quarterback Caleb Lewis is transferring to Robert Morris.

He was a walk-on who earned a scholarship for a brief period, according to this article:
http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2018/01/lsu_caleb_lewis_transfers.html

"Lewis, the Class 2A player of the year in Florida, is a pro-style quarterback who completed 353 of 632 passes for 5,647 yards with 60 touchdowns and just 21 interceptions in leading Victory Christian to the Class 2A state championship this year."

From this article about him initially joining LSU - http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_f1096f7d-5538-5cdd-82a5-9e02f746fb89.html

Okay, now we are talking! Let the fun begin!

Can never have enough QBs. Florida guy, assume Coach knew him from his high school days.

Getting him will likely help get some others guys signed. Not sure how he will do, but he was good enough to earn an sec scholarship.

Edit: the one article says he was offered by Albany state (assume ualbany) out of high school.

Yeah, I'm guessing Gabe Luvara recruited him originally when Luvara was coaching at Albany. Now with Luvara at RMU with Clark, he probably kept in touch with Caleb Lewis when he decided to transfer.

The article states that Lewis' scholarship was revoked when he earned his degree. I presume he earned an associates degree. He has two years of eligibility. BTW one of the photos indicates he's a lefty.

Good job finding guys. We might be transfer U for a year or 2! Need to get some impact players. Will be interesting to see who is coming back.

Terence Stephens is an FBS athlete. I have no idea why he didn't get more reps at Bowling Green, but he's an instant infusion of talent into the backfield. Strong, physical runner with solid speed. He'll have two years of eligibility.

And that Steve Petrick Original_RMC spotted is originally from Norwin. It doesn't look like he's officially committed, but he'd be immediately eligible, too. He was a redshirt freshman this past season and is a tight end.

A thought I had - I wonder if Terence Stephens and Caleb Lewis will enroll for the spring semester and be able to participate in spring ball.

Students are still on break, so there might be enough time, especially for Stephens as a local kid.

That'd be a boost, to have a couple of new faces in along with the returning guys while they install the new systems.

Certainly enough time. All you need is admissions and admin to want it to happen, assuming no academic issues.

Edit: did not mean to imply that there was not support from admin or admissions department. With president rmu is lucky to have, I bet if these guys want, they could all be at Moon in spring semester, again would be a huge boost. Also good for some guys on team currently that maybe on the fence. Getting some of these high profile guys should help.

Would not be surprised to see a QB leave but who knows.

Just another thought, there is that wr from norwin that committed last year (Anthony Dellefemine) that per his Twitter is still on board. Also, the UVA transfer.

Yes, Dellefemine had an injury last summer, so I guess he "grey shirted" this year, and of course, Howard was a high-level FBS recruit. Hopefully, both of those guys are healthy and will be on the team this year. Those two guys could help make the WR position a strong one.
