2017 football roster

Dante Satcher and Jamison Williams must be gone.

Of the 24 recruits announced on signing day, all are listed on the roster except Anthony DelleFemine. I believe Anthony is still fully committed to RMU but has an injury issue.

The running back position seems to be a bit thin. We need Cole Blake to be 100% and hopefully, for at least one of the two freshmen be ready to contribute.

Cole is 100% good to go. I also expect Harrison dreher to get some snaps too. Satcher left right after last season to go home and take care of some family I think. Dellafemine isn't here yet he is getting over an injury I'm told. And Jamison should be back as well, he's not here yet though

One thing I did notice is 38 new freshman, over 40 if you include transfers. I think the staff needs to find a way to slow down the roster turnover every year

Some of the freshmen that have been added to the roster, I assume as walk-ons include:

Anthony Falletta - I believe he is a son of Joey Falletta who starred on the basketball court for the Colonials some years ago. Anthony's dad exceeded expectations when he was at RMU. I hope Anthony does the same.

Garrett Geresti - from Avella. Avella is a very small rural school district in the western part of Washington County. Typically, the school barely has enough players on the team's roster to field a team. The program produces very few wins. It is rare for the school to produce a college player, especially at the FCS level. From such an unlikely program, Garrett was a first team Class A all-state receiver. I have got to root for this kid!

Shyaire Howard - Perry High School. The City of Pittsburgh kids often do not get much attention, and in doing an internet search it seems Shyaire did not get much notice in high school. He is a 6'5" receiver with the last name of Howard, makes me wonder if he is related to Aiden Howard. Anyway, glad to have the City League represented on the roster. Looking forward to seeing 6'5" Shyaire catch some passes over defensive backs.

All the best to all of the freshmen. Go Colonials!

Have been waiting for this release for a while.
  • Good numbers/depth for the OL. But so young. Hopefully they can stay healthy during camp.
  • Only 5 arms for QB. Good luck to both Barr & Walker in their battle. Let's just hope the team settles on a QB that can play each week.
  • RBs are low, could see some DBs being moved to RB if people get banged up.
  • No Trey Edwards either.
  • I think Dreher stays at WR. He starts there Day 1. When RMU goes 5-wde, they might shift him into the backfield.
  • If the conditioning picture I just saw was Gee Stanley, I'm not sure he starts. If that is him, he looks maybe 200lb.

Thanks to all you guys for the posts. What an exciting time. Having a true #1 qb is critically important, hope the correct decision is made before too long.

Good call on a DB moving to rb is needed. Troubling you thoughts on Stanley, he is a hell of a player, as he showed last year.

I know many of us are high on Dreher, I think they will just try to get him ball as much as possible.

That's a shame if Edwards is gone, good athlete that could do a lot of things.

TE looks pretty solid, teams youth will again be a blessing and a curse. Hope all the young guys figure it out fast and that coaches lead them to preparedness asap.

Looking forward to ORMC depth chart, and anyone else who wants to take a stab.

Depth chart from what I saw today:

LT- Rene Rodriguez
LG- Connor mundy
C- Eric McAllister
RG- Justin boyette
RT- Matt fennell
TE- Reggie green
QB- Matt Barr
FB- Jonathan wanat
RB- Cole blake
WR- Tim vecchio
WR- warren robinson
WR- Eldin anu

DE- Chris Stanford
DT- Zach zamiska
DE- Izon pulley
LB- Tyler lamica
LB- Joe utahafe
LB- Adam wollett
LB- Gerald ferguson
CB- travon stott
CB- drew Allen
SS- Ryan Richards
FS- Andy smigiera

Now today was only the second day of camp, I think we may see some changes. It seems like they threw the starters who ended last season as the current starters but we will see a lot of competition heat up once the pads go on!

That defense looks tough. If I had to find a hole I'd say quality depth, especially at dline, but that is being critical.
